Stripe now accepts stablecoins for US businesses outside New York. Most other providers here quote fees only after signup.

How we rank crypto payment tools
- 01Published fee: the processing fee on the provider's own pricing page. A fee shown only after signup counts against it.
- 02US licensing: FinCEN registration, NMLS ID or state licenses named on the provider's own pages, and any excluded states.
- 03Settlement: whether you receive fiat, stablecoins or crypto.
- 04Coverage: coins, stablecoins and networks accepted.
No project paid to be listed or ranked. Full rules: methodology.
How to choose
Compare fees at your real volume
BitPay's rate drops from 2% + 25 cents to 1% as monthly volume passes $1,000,000. At small volume, NOWPayments' 1% is lower, but it names no US license.
Check your state
Stripe's stablecoin payments exclude businesses in New York. BitPay holds New York DFS authorization.
Decide on settlement before you integrate
Coinflow settles in USDC; Coinbase Business keeps funds in a Coinbase account. Settling straight to your bank avoids holding crypto on the balance sheet.
Plan refunds
Stripe returns stablecoin refunds as stablecoins. Write a refund policy that says so.
Who should skip all of these
- Individuals paying friends: these are merchant tools. See our best crypto wallets list.
- Merchants who cannot handle KYB checks: every provider here verifies the business.
- Shops that need a card to spend crypto: a crypto card is a different product.
Bottom line
For a US merchant, BitPay is the safe default: its fee and licenses are on its own pricing page. If you already use Stripe and are outside New York, add stablecoin payments there first.
Ask any provider without a public fee for a written quote before you integrate.
Educational content, not financial advice. Crypto assets are volatile; do your own research.
