How we rank nft marketplaces on base
- 01Confirmed on Base: Base must appear on the project's own chain list, fee table or marketplace page.

- 03Chain coverage: how many chains the project lists, for collectors who hold NFTs on several networks.
- 04Operator: who runs the service and where, from its own terms or site.

How to choose
Add creator fees to the price
OpenSea adds creator fees set on a collection to orders, and Element lets creators set royalties of up to 10%. Check the total before you buy.
Primary mints and resales are different venues
Highlight and Scatter host the first sale of a collection. After minting, the NFTs trade on marketplaces such as OpenSea or Element.
Switch your wallet to Base
Scatter's docs note you must change the active chain in your wallet for collections on other chains. A Base NFT will not show up while your wallet is set to Ethereum.
Gas on Base is small, fees are not
At Base's minimum base fee a typical transaction costs about $0.002, so the marketplace fee (1% to 2%) is usually the larger cost.
Who should skip all of these
- Traders of Solana NFTs: OpenSea's Solana support is limited to token swaps, and the Base-focused venues here do not cover Solana collections.
- Buyers of Zora creator coins: those are ERC-20 tokens, not NFTs.
Bottom line
OpenSea has the lowest published trading fee we found on Base at 1%.
For launches, Highlight and Scatter both support Base; compare their per-mint fees before you pick.
Educational content, not financial advice. Crypto assets are volatile; do your own research.
